Training for professionals

Shelter and Homeless Link are working in partnership to deliver aspects of the Voluntary and Community Frontline Sector (VCFS) programme. This 3-year programme, funded by the Department of Levelling Up Housing and Communities (DLUHC), aims to increase the capacity and capability of the voluntary and community frontline sector through workforce training and investment.

Homeless Link have a wide-range of written resources available to help practitioners in their Knowledge Hub. They offer communities of practice and focus groups as well as a Going Beyond podcast series.

They are also working with leaders across the homelessness sector to connect, collaborate and deliver change through their Leadership Support programmes. 

Organisations can also access free, bitesize learning on safeguarding and strength-based practice.

CPD accredited training

All NHAS training (excluding pre-records) is now CPD accredited. Points allocated can be seen on the relevant webpages and are shown on attendance certificates.  

All live webinars carry 1.5 points CPD accreditation.

Our training offer for individual members of staff includes live ninety-minute webinars, e-learning and pre-recorded sessions.

Group webinar delivery

All our live ninety-minute webinars can be delivered, for free, to groups of staff at NHAS eligible organisations. We can deliver webinars to a minimum of 10 delegates and a maximum of 30 delegates per session. Please contact with any requests or queries.

Group training at your own venue

We can deliver the following DLUHC-funded face-to-face training courses to groups of 8-16. All face-to-face sessions carry 6 points CPD accreditation.

  • Local connection 
  • Housing status and security of tenure 
  • Homelessness duties 
  • Advising on possession proceedings for rented housing
