MAS using behavioural science to increase the number of people who access debt advice

​Money Advice Service have published research on how to use behavioural science to increase the uptake of debt advice. The new resource has been designed to assist debt advisers across the UK encourage more over-indebted people to engage with their services.

MAS worked with Ogilvy Change, a specialist behavioural interventions agency to pilot two innovative projects which explored a critical challenge in the sector – engagement. The results led to the identification of “10 top tips” that can increase the effectiveness of communications and lead to an uptake of debt advice.

The tips are a starting point and designed to encourage discussion around how we can all communicate better with people that do or could use debt advice.
