A short stay emergency accommodation for 16/17 year olds, STOP was developed in partnership with the young people’s charity CAYSH to provide short-term accommodation for up to 12 weeks for young people aged 16 or 17.
STOP provides a safe and secure environment to allow young people to assess their options. Residents are supported to continue with education and training and when ready are to assisted to move on in a planned way.

SASH Nightstop provides short stay emergency accommodation. It operates across the large rural area of North Yorkshire and also within the city of York. Find out more about the national Nightstop scheme operated by Depaul.
Shropshire Council provides 5 short stay beds across supported accommodation that are ring-fenced for 16 and 17 year olds.
Young people stay for up to 2 weeks until the assessment has been completed and their options to return home, or to stay with extended family or friends, have been fully explored.
A fortnightly panel looks at cases before any move is made from suitable short-stay accommodation into longer-stay supported accommodation.
