Local Practice: Street Homeless Support in Dorset (Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Weymouth)

The following organisations are offering support for those who are street homeless in Dorset (including Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Weymouth). Street Support, BCARS, The Lantern Trust, Julian House and Refresh are offering services including food, advice, support and health care.
Those who are street homeless in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole can get support from Street Support who are aiming to connect people and organisations locally, to end homelessness in the area. The BCARS Sleep Safe Project is a supported bed project run by local Churches, providing a safe space to help get people off the streets in the cold weather. The project runs from October 2019 - March 2020 offering a bed, breakfast and a bus pass to rough sleepers. They also have staff and other agencies on hand to help people get into new accommodation.
The Lantern Trust are offering a similar service to BCARS in Weymouth, providing a Safe Sleep Winter Hostel across many city centre churches from December 2nd through to March 2020. Find out more about The Lantern Trust on their website here; lanterntrust.org.uk/safe-sleep.
