Coronavirus Update: Government Confirms £500 Million Council Tax Hardship Fund

The government have announced a £500 million Hardship Fund that will provide council tax relief to vulnerable people and households to help those affected most by coronavirus. The government has said it is up to each local authority to decide how to distribute this money. They are recommending that anyone who receives council tax support, but still has to pay some council tax, should receive an extra £150 reduction in their annual bill.
