Local authority advice leaflets and online resources

This page describes leaflets, guides and other materials that have been produced by local authorities specifically for young people.

Plymouth Council and The Zone

Plymouth Council works with local charity The Zone (formerly Youth Enquiry Service) to provide a web-based resource and signposting to independent advice on housing options, along with advice on other issues.

Royal Borough of Greenwich and 1st Base

The Royal Borough of Greenwich (winner of 2nd place in the Andy Ludlow Awards 2012 for its services for homeless 16 and 17 year olds) provides specialised services to young people through its 1st Base project. This is the housing options service for young people provided alongside the council’s youth services centre at The Point.

In addition, the council publishes Think before you leave home, a guide for young people to the pros and cons of leaving home at a young age.
